| Camp was a lot of fun. Not only did I get in touch with the topic and have some absolutely amazing lab leaders, but the events (not Badiouian events) were great too. Let's work in reverse order.
The tournament and the last day. Our first two rounds were against Classic kids (4 weekers) whom we smoked. Then we hit Juan Garcia and royally fucked up; we hadn't prepped for the round, had hardly slept the night before, and skipped the last two meals of the previous night, so we lost that round. I ate only a nature valley bar that day because the cafeteria was so far away and i didn't have the moola to pick up food. After that, we hit 7 week juniors James and Jon. Their final record was 5-1, and the loss was not to us. They beat us on a Kritk that doesn't really apply to our case. The next day we beat some Classic kids and a mixed lab team. We ended up the top or second to top 4-2 seed, and wound up hitting the supposedly best team in our lab in double octo-finals. Since we were operating on almost no food or sleep that day, the day before, and some of the day before that, we sort of didn't feel up to debating any more. We were also afraid that if we ended up beating the team, they were our best chance of our lab winning the tournament. After a fair amount of deliberation with my partner, we conceded and let them walk over us without debating. Karma was backwards that day, because in octos they hit our lab again, debated, and lost. A wasted concession whatever. The next day we didn't sleep until the ride home.
further back:
We tallied our practice round record at 18-2, which is effing solid.
Weeks 3/4, I had some of the most fun. I should have gotten in trouble with the Popo's twice, but only got talked to once. The first time was like 9:45 at Dennison (where we have our lab meetings, and close to the awesome lilbrary). We were playing a big game of Manhunt (basically it's tag with teams), and the previous round I had the bright idea of climbing a tree and getting on to the roof. The next round I took it a step further and crawled on to a loading dock, then on to a tall dumpster, and then on to the roof of the loading dock, probably a good 20 feet up. The roof was tarred and had a bunch of glass shards on it from some dumb doucherocket throwing bottles on to it. I lay on the roof and got all cut up, then the police came out of the parking garage across the street and yelled at me to get down. I did. A few days later, I pulled a fire alarm accidentally in the dorms (don't ask) and NOTHING happened. I thought I was about to be kicked out of camp, but no one even talked to me. Coooool.
Cafeteria food was decent, but got very mundane by the end. Tofu at the West Quad Caf tasted like eraser, some dumb bitch broke the soft serv machine, and the heat lamps dried out the only good food most days. The campus, however was really cool.
Weather varied from absolute downpours to total heat waves. We had some huge rains, and we had temperatures as hihg as 109 with humidity over 100%. Oh, and no air conditioning in the dorm room. All in all, great frisbee weather, and a lot of frisbee was played too.
Speed drills 20 minutes a night. Speed went like this: -~+**''''`+-,__,-+^. So basically up and down. Kevin itches himself in his sleep and smacks his lips. I can hear it at night when he's still asleep.
My hair got long and shaggy. Woof woof, what's up?
For most of you, you may think that 7 weeks was a long time and it was, but it was some of the best 7 weeks of my life.
